Neck Rejuvenation Virginia

Aging, weight gain and other factors can contribute to the “turkey neck” appearance that neck rejuvenation can combat. As we age, the neck muscles and neck skin can begin to lose their firmness and tone and begin to hang loosely under the neck, decreasing the sharp neck angle that we associate with youth.

REASONS FOR UNDERGOING A NECK REJUVENATION:

  • Sagging, loose skin and muscle hanging under the neck
  • Decreasing vertical banding of of neck tissue
  • Neck rejuvenation typically shows dramatic results with minimal complications

GENERAL PROCEDURE
Neck rejuvenation is designed to give better definition to the neck line and the jaw line, reduce vertical banding, decrease horizontal creases and wrinkling, and relieve the dreaded “turkey-neck” which makes us look older than we are. Whatever the reason the neck appears less than “perfect”, a neck lift can usually result in vast improvement. The procedure is incredibly versatile for both young adults and older people because it can so easily be combined with other procedures such as face lift, brow lift, midface or cheek lift, and eyelid surgery for maximal results.

RECOVERY PROCESS
Though it varies, patients undergoing a neck rejuvenation procedure are typically able to return to work and resume normal day-to-day activities in about 2 weeks. Remember to keep your head and neck still after a neck rejuvenation procedure. Turn your whole body, not just your neck, when looking at something. In addition, your sleeping habits might need to be adjusted for a few weeks. You must keep your head elevated, so plan on using an extra pillow or two. Some patients decide that sleeping on a recliner is the most comfortable option for them during the recovery period.
