The incisions will then be closed and bandaged. Butt augmentation with implants is usually performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure, and therefore, does not require an overnight stay in the hospital.

Butt augmentation with a lift uses excision and tightening techniques to alter the shape and projection of the buttocks instead of implants. Even though a lift can help you achieve a firmer form, it does not increase the size of the buttocks. A butt lift is considered an outpatient procedure that is performed under general anesthesia. To start, an incision is made under the natural crease of your buttocks and loose skin will be removed. The remaining tissue is tightened, and the muscles are then elevated to a higher position. Liposuction may also be incorporated to remove small pockets of fat. Once this process is complete, your incisions will be closed and you will be monitored for a short time and then released to go home. The surgery generally takes about two hours to complete. 

After your procedure, it is not uncommon to feel minor pain and experience swelling and bruising for several days. Drains are often placed and will need to remain in place for a week to allow blood and fluid to empty properly for optimal healing. In most cases, normal activities can be resumed within 2 – 3 weeks, but strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least six weeks.
